The town of North Berwick, East Lothian had the highest average property value of any town in Scotland with an average house price of over 430,000 British pounds. In fact, at this time, the county of East Lothian had the top three most expensive towns for housing in Scotland.
The average price of a Scottish home has risen marginally in the last year, according to official records. Registers of Scotland found the average cost of a residential property rose by 2.2% to £178,991 in the 2018-19 financial year.
While there is still much uncertainty, we now project Scotland’s budget deficit in 2020–21 to have spiked at between 22% and 25% of national income, up from 8.6% of national income in 2019–20, although less than our previous projection.
By far the largest is the services sector, comprising around 75% of Scotland’s economy in 2019. This is followed by production (mining and quarrying, manufacturing, electricity and gas supply, and water supply and waste; 18%), construction (6%) and agriculture, forestry, and fishing (1%).
