The Question & Answer (Q&A) Knowledge Managenet
The Internet has many places to ask questions about anything imaginable and find past answers on almost everything.
Insecticides are the chemicals that are used to kill the insects. For example, rotenone, nicotine, azadirachtin, pyrethrins.
Insecticides are used by both farmers and home gardeners to kill bugs. The government does require farmers to follow rules that dictate how much of each chemical they can use, and when they can use it.
The main classes of crop protection chemicals are herbicides, insecticides and fungicides. Selective herbicides, for example, control the growth of weeds which would otherwise grow among a crop, competing with it for water, nutrients and sunlight.
Crop protection is the science and practice of managing plant diseases, weeds and other pests (both vertebrate and invertebrate) that damage agricultural crops and forestry.
Potential point sources of pesticides include pesticide manufacturing plants, mixing-and-loading facilities, spills, waste water recharge facilities (wells or basins), waste disposal sites, and sewage treatment plants.
Pesticides can be classified by target organism (e.g., herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, rodenticides, and pediculicides – see table), chemical structure (e.g., organic, inorganic, synthetic, or biological (biopesticide), although the distinction can sometimes blur), and physical state (e.g. gaseous (fumigant)).
Pesticides are those substances that help to repel, or control certain organisms that are harmful to plants. Numerous examples have been cited as examples of pesticides. They are insecticides, fungicides, larvicides, rodenticides, molluscicides etc.
Examples of pesticides are fungicides, herbicides, and insecticides. Examples of specific synthetic chemical pesticides are glyphosate, Acephate, Deet, Propoxur, Metaldehyde, Boric Acid, Diazinon, Dursban, DDT, Malathion, etc.
The five most frequently reported pesticide trade names were Round Up, Prowl, Dual, Lorsban and Orthene. The five most common active ingredients based on the frequency of the pesticide trade names were glyphosate, 2,4-D, atrazine, dicamba and malathion.
Pesticides are chemicals that may be used to kill fungus, bacteria, insects, plant diseases, snails, slugs, or weeds among others. Insecticides are a type of pesticide that is used to specifically target and kill insects. Some insecticides include snail bait, ant killer, and wasp killer.
A pesticide is any chemical which is used by man to control pests. The pests may be insects, plant diseases, fungi, weeds, nematodes, snails, slugs, etc. Therefore, insecticides, fungicides, herbicides, etc., are all types of pesticides.
Types of Pests
Systemic insecticides kill insects when they eat the plant and ingest the insecticide chemical. Organochlorine compounds work on insects by opening what’s known as the sodium ion channel in the neurons or nerve cells of insects, causing them to fire spontaneously. The insect will go into spasms and eventually die.
Different Types Of Pest Control Methods
Control of these pests is attempted through exclusion, repulsion, physical removal or chemical means. Alternatively, various methods of biological control can be used including sterilisation programmes.
