Turn the top fill valve cap counter-clockwise and remove the cap from the tank. The fill valve is the larger of the two caps on top of the oil tank. This is where the delivery driver fills your oil tank.

Since a 275 gallon oil tank holds at most 250 gallons, and you should reorder at 1/4 tank (68 gallons), we can take 250-68 = 182 to determine how much heating you can use between fills. 182 gallons, at 5.2 gallons per day, will last for approximately 35 days, or just over one month.
The exact level will depend on the size of your oil tank. But, we would usually recommend that you get your tank refilled when it has reached a quarter full. That way there is little chance that you will run out of heating oil, and you will avoid the impurities running through your heating system.

If you want to try to turn the temp up, you need to locate the operating control. The control is probably a grey control box that is projecting from the hot water coil. Take the cover off (there may be a screw at the top and/or bottom), you should see 3 dials. Turn the one marked lo limit or lo(w) up to as high as 150.
