Staffordshire Police said in a statement this morning: “Following yesterday’s tragic incident at Drayton Manor theme park we can now confirm that the 11-year-old school girl who lost her life has been named as Evha Jannath from Leicester. “Evha sadly died after falling from a water ride at the theme park.

Alton Towers operator Merlin was at fault for the Smiler rollercoaster crash despite “human errors” which left two teenagers needing leg amputations and several other passengers seriously hurt, a court has heard.

Trains have been known to stall, small plastic guide-wheels have fallen of the vertical hill lift and once a bolt had come off a section of track causing two pieces of track to disengage which lead to a small gap in the track.
